It was about 95 degrees according to the thermostat in my van yesterday. I believe it's supposed to be hot again. We got a wicked storm late last night complete with pea sized hail. I absolutely LOVE those kinds of storms. Around here it's always possible to turn into tornadic weather rather spontaneously so of course, you want to be on the alert. However for the most part it's just a good show.


My body by the way can't seem to compute this whole, "I have nothing to do" thing. I feel like I should be working a deadline here. What's wrong??? I can't just let loose. I mean, my brain is telling me I have homework and then I have to keep reminding myself it's summer break. It's hard to let go all of the sudden when you've been so insanely busy for so long. Crazy I tell ya.

I can't believe I made it through the semester. Next semester I'll be doing Pediatrics, OB and Psych. All three could present their own kinds of challenges. I am ready though. I can handle it....albeit with stress of course. haha


Now today I'm going to get a couple loads of laundry done and perhaps go take my financial info down to the college. I have to somehow PAY for this next semester as well. It's not cheap. I had trouble last semester so I hope it all falls into place again.

Started off the first night of summer break partying it up with friends. A guy friend, Dave, graduated from school to be a nurse no less! Of course, most of my friends are nurses why not the guys too right? It's a pure coincidence. I have a good friend who is a teacher. They aren't all nurses!

Anyway we got a party bus and we had a GREAT night. I honestly didn't get drunk really. I wasn't in the mood to feel sick so I paced myself. I had a great time. Now I am sitting on my BUTT and loving it. I do not have my nose in a book and it's great. :) I am going to try and really enjoy every second that I have off this summer.

I need a vacation seriously. I don't mean a sweet vacation away with the family. I'm needing one all by myself. I need to just breathe easy for a bit. I have had a lot of stress in my life in the past couple of years. A human being really can only withstand so much. I mean on the outside, for the most part things look fine. They always do...and most likely always will. Inside however I just want to run screaming down the street. So I am imagining a deserted beach, warm sun, crashing waves....mmmmmmmm. Yes. I can see it now. This is why I loved Yoga class. We had to basically imagine something like that at the end of every class. It was my favorite part of class and it helped alleviate a lot of the stress I had. I am intentionally trying to take a few deep breaths whenever I start to let something worry me, or stress me out. I try to not let it take hold of me because once I start to let it, it only gets worse.

Those who know me know what most of my stress is. Sickness, children, job. There is more that I don't even discuss. So I need some tips for dealing with stress. I think I want to join a gym. When I was in my fitness class in 2005 and Yoga I felt so much better. I do believe exercise,though not a cure for stress, does absolutely help to release it in a better way.

I took a holy ton of pics from my vacation. I didn't get the link up yesterday. I was just too busy cleaning and getting the house in order after such a long time away. We had a great trip and really loved seeing my inlaw's. It was my father in law's 60th birthday. The little cocker spaniel is their baby now that their sons are all raised. My hubby has twin brothers too. You'll notice that in the pics as well. They all say they don't look alike but I still can't tell them apart after all these years. I have been in that family since 1993!!! Seems like an eternity. I was just 17 at the time. The twins were 11. They are now 26. It's crazy to me. Enjoy the pics.

When I knew we would be on the road for so many hours I decided to use my iTunes gift cards that I got from the hubby for my birthday and Christmas. I downloaded some games including Trivial Pursuit. I sometimes get aggravated at those games. Some questions are completely impossible, while some are downright laughable. The hubby kept getting questions that are easy for him including video game related questions and car relation questions. There was a question about the gauge on a car that tracks the RPM. This is elementary to him. I think I would have gotten it, but not instantly.

There are others that are easy for me. I am awesome at the Science and Nature category. I didn't know if I would be, but they seem to ask a lot of questions that I find simple. Or it was just something I recently learned in my college courses...of which most are science related! Then of course there is Arts and Literature. I love to read, and I am somewhat of an artist. Both on paper and musically so I find some of that easy. They asked where Anne Frank wrote her diary. That was a trick question since it was NOT where she was born. Perhaps I could take one difficult question every now and again and throw it out here on my blog...see who gets it right! haha

Anyway I am enjoying my vacation. I have really gotten to know this area now. I love the mountains. I love the ocean but that's a few hours away still. We thought about taking a drive to look. I would so love that. Maybe the hubby and I could take a little stroll along the beach. :)

I'll be gone from today until the 31st. I may or may not get access to a computer while I am away. I am making my road trip to see my doc and then off to North Carolina for awhile. I won't be able to make my entrecard drops while I am gone but I'll make up for it when I get back. I appreciate every one's understanding! I'll have pics to post upon my return.
