Not Liking this Entrecard Change Too Much

Well since the beginning of Entrecards changes I have been ok with it really. Paid ads really didn't bother me and it didn't affect my blog. Or so I thought. See, I am seeing a change that I am not too happy with at all. My guess is that many others won't be happy either. I did approve a couple of paid ads not thinking much of it. Then I noticed that the same exact ad is on almost ALL of the blogs I am dropping on today. I like seeing variety. I like seeing all kinds of diverse ads throughout Entrecard. This is how I have found a lot of blogs that I read today. Now I see the same old blog advertised on 100's of pages. I am not happy with that. I really don't think it's right that a paid ad gets pushed in front of other Entrecard advertisers. We pay EC which is hard earned! We click and earn those EC and when I pay for an ad I expect it to run the full amount of time. Is it now running for less time? Is it pushed out of the way for a paid ad? I do not understand why the ads can't still run for the same amount of time and come in order. First come, first serve. This really doesn't seem right to me. Now on my other blog I have four paid ads waiting for approval. This means that they will then go in front of anyone else who spent over 1500 ec to advertise on that blog. That's no chump change and I don't think that's right. Maybe I am misunderstanding things. I certainly am no expert and I have only been half paying attention to all the changes. Still I think paid advertisers are getting preferential treatment and I gotta say....I don't like it. I won't be paying for my adverts. See, I would almost feel guilty to be pushing others out of the way so my blog can get all the publicity. I keep seeing the same blog and it's just irritating me. I have no desire to click it at all. So there ya go. My complaint for the day. For those who don't use Entrecard? I apologize for confusing you!! :)

Wow Sandi i did not hear about all this new stuff. I got a email form EC but did not pay to much attention to it. They seem like they are trying to make the site for the people who pay the most maybe. I dont know. Have a great weekend.

Contact Entrecard IMMEDIATELY and complain. I did that this morning and suprise, the paid ad disappeared to be replaced by the ad paid for with credits. I don't mind the paid ads but I think they need to wait in line behind the rest of the ads already ahead of them regardless of how they were paid for!

You're able to put it better into words than I do.

Complain! And maybe skip dropping on the pages with the ads. When we all do, the system goes down.

I'm now dropping and reading twitter. For the first time, because I never felt the need, as I clicked on every entrecardsquare I wanted to click on.

I've blogged about it too this afternoon.

I hope you're having a good weekend anyway.

I agree and have been considering the value of EntreCard for some time. The bounce rate is hideous.

Have you looked into "Along for the Ride!"? Its a new traffic sharing program that I started in Feb. So far, its been doing very well. Here's the Link:

So far I am just rejecting all the paid ads until they can show me what they are first. i want to see what it is before I let it on my blog! I would hate to leave EC but we'll see, I guess. As long as they do not penalize me (or anyone) for not running the paid ads...

Wow I have been in the forums all morning over this issue. I didn't realize that I could go in and ask that my paid adds be put in line to wait.

Great post Sandi and I am seeing the same thing you are...color Addiction and RagingRev!!

I have noticed the same things. For I had several regular(?) Entrecard adverts in line for their turn on my blog, and yet, the paid ad that I just approved today showed up ahead of them all. I have also noticed that same ad on many other sites so far.

Since I am so happy with Entrecard in other regards, I don't think I will being doing anything drastic, but fair is fair. Of course, if I start getting a fat check from the paid ads each month, I won't care so much about fairness. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WOW, I just noticed that one ad I accepted, that I accepted, it took over who's SUPPOSE to be running right now... WTF this is so stupid

I don't know what to do I don't want to quit using EC but this is redicilius. I should just write an entry tomorrow :(

I'm a little confused myself, will see how this thing works, for now I have stopped approving my paid ads too. ;)

I think they are set so that some of the people who view your page will see the paid ad, and some people will see the your credit ad. I really don't like it either, and I *really* don't like the fact that one of the paid ads was showing on my page before I approved ANY paid ads.

I agree with you. I really didn't like this new changes in EC because it made my dropping taking more time. I agree with Split Rock Ranch.

Yeah, I'm thinking the same thing. I even left a comment on their blog saying almost exactly what you just said. :)

According to EC, those paid ad will run 50% of the time. So instead of getting 100% of what you paid for ad with EC credits, now you only get 50%. My widget is reserved for advertisers who paid with their EC credits.

I am not accepting any paid ads. I think if someone pays credits for my site my loyalty rests with them. I've asked if there is a way we can tell who is or isn't accepting ads and the answer was no. Maybe someone could put together a list. I do however want to support EC, I know they need money so I buy Credits and I bought some of the paid advertising now I don't feel bad about not accepting ads.

i recently noticed this on my dashboard. I simply approved everything but I keep on seeing the same groups of EC's widget. I could not at all comprehend them. Gosh! I find the old technique more handy.

Well, it appears that whether you reject an ad or not doesn't matter. I just found an ad running on my blog that I did NOT approve! I removed my widget and am canceling my account. This is just too much like bait and switch to me.

From what I've seen it looks like the ads randomly rotate, whether it's paid or from within Entrecard.

I made the mistake of accepting way too many paid ads (because I get have about 20 waiting every time I log in) and I've noticed it's a different one every time I load my blog.

I'm not sure if that's how it is supposed to work or not. I was also under the impression that we were going to be able to redeem our credits for cash if we wanted to. Do you know if that's still part of the plan?

If there is monetary compensation I'll be a little less annoyed with some of these changes.

My blog is showing the advert which was paid using EC,even on different re loads.I have approved many paid ads but have no idea of their implications.I think it should be on first come first serve basis too but personally, for me..what difference does it make?

I did the same thing as you. When I first saw the paid ads I was like "accept! accept! accept!!" Then I was doing my dropping today and noticed that the same couple of ads are shown over and over and over. Seems like I've seen a couple of the ads more than 50% of the time on just during my drops. Very discouraging. :o)

Thanks for commenting on my blog, and I love, love, love your blogs. I am a happy stalker, lol. :o)
